If you work it out this is certainly a great offer! When you purchase Office 2007 Prepaid you receive a prepaid voucher which holds a serial key. Initially you get 6 months to start you off (thank you Microsoft) and thereafter 3 months at a time. If you calculate the costs it works out something like this: 1st year = R825. Every year thereafter R1100. Thus it would take you about 4 years to have paid what you would have paid for Office 2007 Professional. We all know that Microsoft will likely have a new version of Office out before the 4 years are up and you could simply move over to the new Office, again on prepaid. Keeping you always up to date!
What do you get in terms of software?
Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Publisher and Access. Buying the equivalent Office 2007 Professional package from a reasonable retailer will cost you aprox. R4500 ZAR.
What happens when the software expires?
After the subscription expires, the software goes into reduced functionality mode. In reduced functionality mode you can continue to view and print files, but you cannot modify existing files or create and save new ones. You can renew 2007 Microsoft Office system Prepaid within 30 days before expiration or at any time after it expires. In Microsoft Office Outlook, select Activate Product from the Help menu and enter the product key on the back of a Prepaid Renewal card. To renew the software after the subscription period, open a Microsoft Office application, and then open the Help menu, and select Activate Product.
When can I convert to the full product version?
You can convert your subscription software to the full product version by clicking Convert in any of the expiration reminder messages. You can renew your Prepaid subscription within 30 days of expiration, or even after the subscription has expired.
